The Heavyweight title was on the line at Legacy FC 40. Cody East retained that title with a TKO victory over Brice Ritani-Coe at 1:41 of round 2.

Titan Fighting Championship did something on Friday they had never done in their history, put four belts up for grabs in a single night. At Titan FC 33 the Bantamweight title was won by Brett Johns. Johns defeated Walel Watson via rear naked choke at 3:06 of round 2.  Chase Gormley won the Heavyweight strap with a somewhat controversial unanimous decision over Jon Madsen. UFC veteran Pat "BamBam" Healy won a gritty split decision over Kurt Kinser to win the Lightweight belt. And finally Kurt Holobaugh defeated then champion Desmond Green via split decision to win the Featherweight title.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made its way down to Brazil for UFC Fight Night 62. Women's Bantamweight Amanda Nunes defeated Shayna Baszler via TKO at 1:56 of round 1. Welterweight Erick Silva earned a win over Josh Koscheck by guillotine at 4:21 of round 1. And in the main event Welterweight Damien Maia defeated undefeated fighter Ryan LaFlare by way of unanimous decision.
