4/17/16

From the Philippines to London, from Italy to Tampa, this past weekend was rocking with fights all around the world. If you missed out, don't worry, I have you covered.

Starting off with ONE Championship 41, Flyweight Geje Eustaquio dominated Gianni Subba for a unanimous decision victory. Welterweight champion Ben Askren won via unanimous decision in a non title fight against Nikolay Aleksakhin.

After what seemed like a lifetime of being absent from the scene, Cage Warriors returned with Cage Warriors 75. Young Featherweight prospect Paddy Pimblett defeated Asleigh Grimshaw by way of unanimous decision. In the main event Jack Hermansson kept his Middleweight title with a KO of Alan Carlos at 4:45 of round 3.

Two titles were on the line at RFA 37. Leandro Higo claimed the vacant Bantamweight belt over Joey Miolla with a rear naked choke at just 2:07 of round 1. The inaugural Light Heavyweight title went to Devin Clark after Rafael Viana failed to answer the third round bell due to a broken finger. Clark got the official victory by TKO at 5:00 of round 2.

Bellator made its international debut (not counting the Canadian fight cards early in its history) with Bellator 152. Featherweight A.J. McKee defeated Danilo Bellurado via TKO at 2:44 of round 1. Light Heavyweight Alessio Sakara out struck Brian Rogers in front of his home crowd for a second round TKO win at 2:29. In a lackluster main event, Lightweight Patricky "Pitbull" Freire won a unanimous decision against Kevin Souza.

Finishing off the weekend was UFC on FOX 19. Lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov made his comeback (finally) against UFC newcomer Darrell Horcher. Nurmagomedov outclassed his opponent on his way to a TKO at 3:38 of round 2. Women's Strawweight Rose Namajunas defeated Tecia Torres via unanimous decision. In the main event Light Heavyweight Glover Teixeira knocked out former champion Rashad Evans at 1:48 of round 1.
