8/24/14

Five events in two days... we better get this started.

First up was Cage Warriors 71 which took place in Amman Jordan. The main event featured Jack Hermansson successfully defending his Middleweight belt against Deyan Topalski by TKO at 4:09 of round 1.

Titan Fighting Championship put together another phenomenal with Titan FC 29. Featherweight Kurt Holobaugh made quick work of Lloyd Woodard, a KO at :15 to be exact. Luckily for Holobaugh the fight ended that fast because he injured his leg checking a kick right beforehand. In the main event Mike Ricci outworked George Sotiropoulos to a unanimous decision.

Two titles were on the line at RFA 17. First up was the Featherweight strap. Justin Lawrence out struck Mark Dickman leading to a clear unanimous decision which won him the belt. The second title up for grabs was in the Lightweight division. Christos Giagos claimed that one by landing a crazy flying knee on Dakota Cochrane, winning by KO at 2:04 of round 2.

The final two events of the weekend were both UFC fight nights. The first of those two was UFC Fight Night 48 in Macau China. Welterweight Tyron Woodley took no time in dispatching Dong Hyun Kim. Woodley won by TKO at 1:01 of round 1. The main event saw Micheal Bisping completely dominate Cung Le. The fight was finally stopped at :57 of round 4 because of strikes.

The second of the two fight nights took place in Tulsa Oklahoma. Middleweight Thales Leites came out quick in the second round and KO'd Francis Carmont at :20 of round 2. Next up was Welterweight Jordan Mein who looked great against Mike Pyle. Mein won via TKO at 1:12 of round 1. The main event saw Rafael dos Anjos pull off a big upset against Benson Henderson. Dos Anjos clipped Henderson with a flying knee and followed up with heavy shots on the ground leading to a KO at 2:31 of round 1.

Bellator has signed Women's Featherweight fighter Talita Nogueira.

Former Featherweight champion Daniel Straus will take on Justin Wilcox at Bellator 127. The fight will serve as the headline.

Heavyweight Mirko "Cro Cop" returned to the win column in MMA against legend Satoshi Ishii at IGF2. Mirko won via TKO in round 2.
